How to export and back up your Talkie AI chats on Android
The short answer
- Talkie exports no chats. Its Export Data page lists what you get: email, username, gender, age.
- Talkie keeps your chats. Its privacy policy lists "the messages you send and receive" as data it collects.
- Screenshots are the only way out. No tool exists, and Talkie's terms forbid building one.
What you can lose
- Deleting your account erases all conversation records, unrecoverably, and your Talkies pass out of your ownership. (Deactivation page)
- Suspension "may be immediate and without notice." (Terms of service)
- Inactivity "for an extended period" can get an account terminated. (Terms of service)
- Any data loss is on you: Talkie "has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data." (Terms of service)
- A character edit is held for moderation, and the Talkie can be hidden without any ban. (Help center FAQ)
The data request
Privacy law in many places gives you a right to a copy of your data. Talkie's policy accepts such requests at [email protected].
- No form, no privacy officer, no stated turnaround.
- We found no first-hand report of anyone receiving chat transcripts this way.
- Send it anyway, keep a copy, and do the steps below without waiting for a reply.
How to save a chat
- Screenshot the whole conversation, top to bottom, overlapping each shot so no message is cut.
- Transcribe the screenshots. An AI assistant that reads images can do a batch at a time; ask for a speaker label on every line.
- Clean the transcript. Remove duplicate lines and app chrome, and check the speakers.
- Store it outside Talkie. A text file in your own cloud storage or on your computer.
Copying text from the web app once worked. Since early 2025, selected messages come out in scrambled order. The diary, photo, and voice-memo extras have no download path; screenshot the ones you want.
How to save the character
A Talkie's profile is public text. Copy each field into a file. The fields map onto the standard character-card format, and LonelyTavern's editor has one for each.
- Intro, long description, personality, identity and background, relationships become the description and personality.
- Prologue becomes the first message.
- Dialogue style becomes the example dialogue.
